Novice, Atom, and Pee-Wee Players Only

On-ice in the morning: Development of multiple hockey player skills

  • Skills (puck handling agility)
  • Power skating

  • Puck retrieval
  • Posture
  • Marking and getting open

On-ice in the afternoon: Tournament

  • Preparatory games on Monday and Tuesday.
  • Tournament starts on Wednesday
  • Friday afternoon, semifinals and final.

Off-ice:

  • Plyometrics
  • Agility and mobility
  • Core strengthening
  • VO2max development
  • Strength and muscular endurance development

SHOOTING TECHNIQUES, DEKES AND STICK HANDLING

Course given by: EPS Team

Focused on development of individual techniques. Shooting, dekes, stick handling, puck protection and more drills in different situations. The level of complexity of theses techniques will arise as the week progress. 3 hours of on-ice per day are used on workshops and skills perfection to obtain player excellence. Well beyond 2 hours of activities where your kid will train like a NHL professional with plyometrics, training stations and more.

Depending on the group, Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

WEEK 2: OF JUNE 30TH TO JULY 4TH, 2025

GAME SITUATIONS

Course given by: EPS Team

This week is made up of on-ice game situations in the morning for a 1.5 hour time frame. Fore-checking, 1 on 1 battles, shot blocking, back-checking and more are examples of different game situations that a player will face during a hockey game. Theses workshops are taught in a progressive manner throughout the week with a higher degree of difficulty as the week progress. In the afternoon, an inter-squad game will played under supervision of a coach on the ice. He will stop the play to position players in the right areas of the ice. Also, two coaches will be on the benches to give immediate feedback to the skaters when they return from the ice. Well beyond 2 hours of activities where your kid will train like a NHL professional with plyometrics, training stations and more.

Depending on the group, Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Typical day :

1H30 on the ice and
1H30 of gameplay on the ice with players and coaches intervene with students to help them adjust their gameplay :

  • 1 on 1
  • 2 on 1

WEEK 3: OF JULY 7TH TO 11TH, 2025

POWER SKATING & STICK HANDLING

Course given by: EPS Team

Each day is made up of 3 hours of ice. 1H30 hours of ice in the morning is dedicated to Stick Handling where we put emphasis on the techniques of Stick Handling in different on-ice situations. Each drills will terminate with a shot at the net. In the afternoon, 1.5 hours of ice is dedicated to Power Skating. We will work on the mechanics of the skating stride and basic techniques to improve your skating . No pucks are used for the afternoon sessions. An inter squad game will be played in the Friday afternoon session as a reward for the week of great work. Our off-ice conditioning is a must at EPS. Well beyond 2 hours of activities where your kid will train like a NHL professional with plyometrics, training stations and more.

PREPARATION FOR THE TRAINING CAMP

3 hours of ice a day, this week is a comprehensive preparation program for the various training camps that will begin soon. Specific high-intensity exercises based on optimal development of the hockey player will be on the menu so that the player is in the best possible physical shape for his training camp that is fast approaching. Skating, puck handling, restricted zone work, 1 vs 1 battle, explosive foot games, quick throws, etc. In short, no aspect of the game will be neglected during this intense week. Our off-ice component is also a must at EPS. Beyond 2 hours of activities where your child will train as an NHL professional. On the menu: plyometry, training station, etc …
